What to Consider When Looking for Short Term Office Space

Once you have gotten your business up and running, the one thing that comes to mind is the office space and meeting space in Washington DC you need. However, this might not be such a good idea as you don’t want to tie yourself down to a lease and then the business fails to stand the fierce competition. One way to go about it would be to have virtual offices. However, you might still want to have a physical address where your clients can actually come and have a chat with you. The solution to this is getting a short term office. This balances out the virtual and physical office presence dilemma that you, as a small business owner, have to constantly deal with. As you would expect this is not a walk in the park and there are some things that you should consider before you settle for such an office space.

Size
The first thing you want is a space that will be able to house all your equipment and workforce adequately. Therefore size is of paramount importance. It has to be the right size. You don’t have the luxury of going too extravagant on size and you also can’t manage to work from a space as small as your car.

Cost
Compare the size of the space with the cost. People renting out these kinds of spaces can be a bit exorbitant since they understand that you won’t be staying for the long term and hence try to make the best out of your short stay so you have to ensure that you get the right price for the right space.

Location
When getting the location, there are several things that you should consider. One is the accessibility of the place, availability of parking space, proximity to major cities or the uniqueness of the place. It is not common that you will get all these but you can settle with a good number of them. But make sure you have parking space and the building is strategically placed.

As much as this kind of an option is the same as virtual offices, it does offer you a chance to test the waters before you go all in and also gives those whose businesses can’t flourish with the virtual type of an office a fighting chance to make it into the market. But make sure you choose the space wisely.
